Cefotaxime IM as a single dose

West of Scotland neonatal guideline: eye infections in the neonate

Refer mother to Central Sexual Health Services for screening and treatment

Anaphylaxis (including severe skin reactions) to penicillin / cephalosporins

Therapy

Consult paediatric ID if allergy to cephalosporins

Ofloxacin 0.3% eye drops are not licensed for use in neonates but may be used if advised by ophthamology
